We are concerned about safety and taste of food

Domestic ingredients
We are concerned about domestic ingredients and domestic production

Our products are basically "made in Japan". Our farm products, such as rice and vegetables, are all produced in Japan, and our processed food products and seasonings are mostly made with domestic ingredients. Although the price is higher, we prioritize quality and safety. Also, we choose domestic products instead of imports, to minimize our CO2 emissions and help preserve the environment.

Additive free
Chemical seasonings are not added.

"No chemical preservatives, no artificial color, and no chemical seasonings" is our policy when we select products. Chemical additives are unhealthy and ruin the delicate taste of food. We check the ingredients to the extent of carry-overs of additives to prove the safety. Some people would say additive-free food has less taste because of the lack of the strong impact, but the difference is clear if the food is savored carefully.

Traditional processes
Traditional processes of production is our basic principle

Soybean paste (miso) commonly sold at supermarkets is produced by a special rapid brewing method that takes less than two months. But miso had traditionally been fermented slowly in a process that took years. We sell miso produced in such a traditional process that undergoes 1 to 3 years of fermentation under natural climatic conditions. As for our other seasonings and pickles, we select homemade, natural foods produced via traditional processes. Our food has been produced by small brewers and millers and brings to you authentic tastes of Japan.

Chemical-free agriculture
We support producers who do not use agricultural chemicals or chemical fertilizers.

We support organic farming for our customers' safety as well as for a better environment. It takes time, money, and effort to protect crops from disease, to weed and to make natural fertilizers without agricultural chemicals. But for the sake of our customers' satisfaction, we deliver such rice and vegetables produced organically or with as few chemicals as possible.

Passionate producers
We support passionate and ambitious producers

We respect producers who have ambitions to produce the highest quality products even if it takes time and trouble. We gather products of those passionate producers from all over Japan. Some people say the price is expensive, but we believe it is rather fair, considering the effort on the part of the producers. We support serious and passionate producers economically because of the food safety issue.

Taste
Taste counts.

Taste is also an important aspect. We check the taste as well as the producers and the production methods before deciding products to sell. Just being "organic " isn't enough. We cherish Japanese traditional food culture such as "the rice and miso soup meal" and help pass on the authentic traditional tastes to the next generations.
